Manufacturer Cuts Operating Costs with 69 kW Commercial Solar Installation Mississauga
Custom Control Panels Inc. invested in a 69 kW commercial solar system designed to reduce electricity costs, lower grid consumption and support more predictable long-term operating expenses at its Mississauga manufacturing facility.
Completed in September 2026, the rooftop system features 138 high-efficiency LONGi solar panels paired with Solis three-phase inverters. The system is expected to generate approximately 78,753 kWh of renewable electricity annually – enough to offset up to 100% of the facility’s current electricity consumption.

The Challenge
Electricity is an ongoing operating expense for manufacturing businesses, particularly as utility rates and other overhead costs continue to fluctuate. Custom Control Panels wanted to reduce the amount of electricity purchased from the grid while improving the long-term cost efficiency of its Mississauga facility.
The project also required a carefully designed system that could maximize on-site solar consumption without exporting excess electricity to the grid.
The Solution
Zeno Renewables designed a 69 kW DC rooftop solar system around the facility’s electricity usage and operational requirements.
The system uses 138 LONGi 500 W solar panels to generate electricity directly at the facility, with Solis three-phase inverters converting that energy for use by the building’s equipment and operations.
A zero-export control strategy was incorporated into the design. This setup limits solar production to the facility’s real-time electricity demand, keeping the generated energy behind the meter while allowing the business to take advantage of applicable Ontario energy-saving incentives.
The Expected Impact
Once commissioned, the system is projected to produce approximately 78,753 kWh of renewable electricity during its first year. Based on current consumption and project assumptions, this could offset up to 100% of Custom Control Panel’s annual electricity use.
The system is expected to deliver:
- Approximately $10,782 in annual electricity savings
- An estimated $203,463 in lifetime savings
- Lower dependence on electricity purchased from the grid
- Reduced and more predictable long-term operating costs
- On-site renewable energy without exporting excess production
By combining solar generation with a zero-export design, Custom Control Panels can turn previously unused rooftop space into a productive business asset while maintaining greater control over its energy expenses.
Built for Long-Term Performance
The system’s LONGi solar panels include 25-year product and production warranties, providing long-term protection for the company’s investment.
For Custom Control Panels, commercial solar is more than an environmental improvement – it is a practical cost-reduction strategy designed to strengthen the facility’s operational efficiency for decades to come.
