Program Overview: Empowering Edmonton’s Multi-Unit Residences

Launched to promote renewable energy adoption, the Change Homes for Climate – Solar Rebate Program provides rebates to eligible multi-unit residential property owners. The program offers $0.50 per watt towards the cost of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. Properties with four or more permitted units can receive up to $4,000 per dwelling, with a maximum of $100,000 per property owner annually.​

Important Deadlines: Act Fast

To take advantage of this opportunity, adhere to the following deadlines:
  • Part I Application: Submit by August 15, 2025, or before funds are fully allocated, whichever comes first.​
  • Part II Application: Complete installation and submit by November 3, 2025.

How to Apply

  • Installation and Final Submission: Upon receiving conditional approval, proceed with the installation. Ensure all work is completed and Part II documentation is submitted by the specified deadline.
  • Hire a Qualified Installer: Choose a contractor listed with the Solar Energy Society of Alberta or the Canadian Renewable Energy Association.​
  • Application Submission: Your installer can assist in submitting the Part I application through the after March 17, 2025.​
